Fun Questions for Couples

MMFunQuestions

Angela and I have been married for 25+ years. I am so blessed to have her as my bride. Other than my relationship with God, my relationship with her is my priority. Not just the state of being married, but the act of being married: time together, making decisions together, managing our kids together, serving the Lord together and all-of-life together. I love being married to her!

As I am always trying to build into our relationship, I learn a lot by watching other married couples who are further down the road than we are. One thing I have learned that I do NOT want to do or become is a couple that goes out to eat in public, orders our food and then sits across from each other….SILENT. I see it a lot. Makes me sad.

(Recently, I saw something that made me even sadder. The same scenario…older couple, out to eat, sitting across from each other, silent…and both faces in their phones! Ugh!)

On the heels of this moment, I have friends who are going away for the weekend. They are so disciplined to make this trip at least two times a year. It’s not a “Dr. Phil” project or super spiritual couples retreat. It’s just a trip to remind themselves, their kids, family and friends that their marriage is a priority. It’s also a time to talk about where they are headed in life, in their family and in their marriage.

I did not make the list because they need help in communication. A list like this just makes it real easy because you just answer the questions. Hopefully, the answers just parlay into more communication and more communication brings people together. (And gives you something to talk about and not stare at the wall or your phone!)
